The Met Deparment has predicted more rain through the day.
The Delhi Airport area on Thursday received a record 117 milimetres of rainfall in one hour, breaking the 1959 record.
The world class terminal at Indira Gandhi International Airport was a pitiful sight at the arrival area at Terminal 3 - after a sudden cloudburst on Thursday.
Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) said that the drains adjoining the arrival forecourt at T3 were filled to capacity and overflowed. That was the main reason why excess water spilled into the arrival area.
They added that the passengers and baggage had to be diverted to the international area as a precautionary measure.
DIAL said there were no delays or cancellations due to the cloudburst.
